Chaga Inonotus obliquus: A pleasant flavoured tea. Hugely anti-oxidant, immune-modulating, and lung tonic.
Hemlock Reishi Ganoderma tsugae: This is our more common local reishi mushroom species and shares a lot of properties with Ganoderma lucidum which has been used for thousands of years and largely studied for its wide range of benefits. such as: immune-modulating, stress reduction and sleep improvement, anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, and useful for allergies and as a general tonic.
Turkey Tail Trametes versicolor: Comes in a variety of colors. Very beautiful! This is our currently most studied mushroom for its effectiveness against a broad spectrum of cancers, most notably breast cancer. Makes a mildly bitter tea.
Lions Mane Hericium spp.: Lions mane is best known for its beneficial effects on the brain helping with memory and stimulating new neural growth and repair. Traditionally it has been used as a stomach and digestive support for issues such as ulcers, cancers and indigestion as well as immune support. This is also an edible and very tasty species!
Directions to make tea with medicinal polypores: Simmer on medium-low heat over a period of 20 min-several hours depending on how many rebrews.
Rebrew pieces until water runs clear or flavor is gone.
Can store used pieces in fridge or freezer for longer term storage
